This “not a monthly update” is quickly becoming a monthly update! However there’s still a few bits going on and as promised I want to keep you all up to date with what’s happening at the club.
Firstly, and probably most exciting, I’m pleased to announce that we will be trialling live music at the club on 3 Fridays between now and the end of the year:
October 24th 1930: Rob from What The Duck
November 28th 1930: TBC
December 19th 1930: Christmas themed live music
Whilst the committee are very keen to keep squash and Racketball at the forefront of the agenda we also recognise how vibrant the social scene at the club can be so are keen to see if the 2 can continue to work harmoniously with this new initiative.
We also have a few planned small level works coming up in the next few weeks, many of which have been raised by members that we are keen to address:
Gym TV- We are aware that this isn’t picking up all channels and are looking at the aerial at the moment
Extractor fan in men’s changing room- This is due to be looked at and replaced imminently
Court Heaters- This is being looked at currently
Drains- We are very much aware of the smell coming from the foyer at certain times and are working with other partners to resolve this
Court cleanliness- It’s fair to say the courts are due a clean, this is being quoted for at the moment
White boards- to support the mini leagues now recording full game scores, we will soon be installing a small whiteboard outside each court to help players remember the scores at the end of the game.
The committee are also in the process of refreshing and renewing our safeguarding policies. We are keen to make sure we are protecting all members using the best guidelines available to us. All current policies still stand and we’ll communicate any changes as and when they arise.
I’d also like to take this opportunity to congratulate our own Diane Fenwick who recently won the standout performer award as the women’s B grade and over 50’s winner at the recent British Racketball Open 2025.
Finally, In the next week or so we plan to re-issue the survey which was circulated this time last year, the survey has been tweaked based on changes over the last year but will give you all the chance once again to rate how you feel the club and the committee are currently performing as well as giving you the opportunity to help steer how we move things forward please keep an eye out for this.
